Volunteer Opportunities

At the Collaborative, all volunteers are welcome! Take a look at the categories below to see which type of volunteer opportunities work best for your skills and your schedule. To get involved, simply email us at info@HelpMA.org.

Corporate Volunteers

Companies who partner with their philanthropic partners to host one-day volunteer activities, usually on an annual basis.

  • Painting our therapy spaces and/or waiting room

  • Organizing a gift card drives for clients’ basic needs

  • Organizing a coat, hat, or sock drive in Fall/Winter

  • Teaming up with us to do a community clean-up around our center

Episodic Volunteers

Volunteers with limited availability, who might volunteer a few times a year for certain activities.

  • Attending university fairs to promote our clinical internship opportunities

  • Organizing community, Moakley Park, or Carson Beach Clean-Ups outside our center

  • Organizing Blood Drives

  • Tabling at Community Events


Expert Volunteers

Volunteers who can lend a specialized skill set in service to the organization (social worker, archivist, attorney, etc.).

  • FOR COUNSELORS/LADCs

    • Hosting time-limited therapy groups

    • Providing counseling at a Grief Retreat

  • FOR NEUROPSYCHOLOGISTS

    • Performing pro bono neuropsychological evaluations

  • FOR CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS

    • Teaching a CPR Class

    • Teaching Harm Reduction and Naloxone Administration

    • Teaching a Stop The Bleed Course

fORMAL Volunteers

Volunteers who come on a regular basis throughout the year.

  • Volunteering during Intake Wednesdays

    • Escorting new clients on Intake Wednesdays

    • Calling new clients to confirm appointments

    • Serving coffee and snacks

  • Tabling on our behalf at community events

  • Providing case management for clients

    • Assisting in housing searches and applications

    • Assisting in public benefits applications

    • Conducting financial literacy education


Event Volunteers

Volunteers who like to participate in event organizing committees, manage guest check-in at a gala, etc.

  • Making one of your regular social events a small-dollar fundraiser (e.g. your annual holiday party, July 4th BBQ, etc.)

  • Organizing Blood Drives

  • Joining the Comedy Night Committee

  • Joining the Spring Gala Committee

  • Joining the Friend-raiser Committee

Virtual Volunteers

Volunteers who are willing to repost, promote, like, and share all organizational social media posts with their network.

  • Having your company do a Social Media Takeover Day

  • Posting/Sharing for our Giving Tuesday Virtual Event

  • Posting/Sharing for our COA Week Virtual Event

  • Conducting a Facebook Birthday Donation Drive
